Meet Dr. Joseph Sabbagh
His Background
Dr. Joseph Sabbagh is a Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics at the Lebanese University in Beirut.
He previously served as Head of the Department and Director of the Master’s Program in Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics. He also leads several research projects focused on dental materials and clinical techniques.
He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut. In 2004, he obtained a PhD in Biomaterials from the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), Belgium. Prior to that, he completed a Master’s in Operative Dentistry specializing in restorative dentistry and endodontics at UCL in 2000. Additionally, he earned two Certificates of Advanced Studies from the University of Paris-VII (France), in Biomaterials (1997) and Operative Dentistry (1998). In 2020, he received his HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from the Lebanese University.
Dr. Sabbagh maintains a private practice limited to aesthetic dentistry and endodontics in both Belgium and Beirut. He is the author of more than 25 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has lectured extensively at national and international conferences. He is also the editor and author of the book Bulk Fill Resin Composites in Dentistry, published by Springer.
He is an active member of several prestigious dental organizations, including:
